DeJohn Environmental Services was founded by Nick DeJohn, a Syracuse-based environmental consultant with over seven years of experience in wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and environmental permitting across New York State.

Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry — one of the most rigorous environmental programs in the Northeast, right here in Syracuse. Since graduating, he has performed ecological surveys and worked on environmental permitting for some of the most complex land and energy development projects in New York, coordinating directly with the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Before starting DeJohn Environmental, Nick built his career in the field — conducting wetland delineations and habitat assessments for solar, transmission, and land development projects across New York. Early in his career, Nick gained extensive field experience delineating wetlands under both USACE and NYSDEC methodologies, performing habitat assessments, conducting avian surveys, and supporting agency jurisdictional determinations throughout New York State. Over time, that field foundation evolved into permitting and project management work — preparing Nationwide Permit applications, managing environmental consultants, and coordinating directly with NYSDEC, USACE, and USFWS. DeJohn Environmental brings both sides of that experience together: the field knowledge to know what's actually on your property, and the regulatory experience to know what to do about it.
